KJ Bromell fabricate using the tried and tested Legend 70 profile system. Legend 70 (originally a Permacell product), was recently acquired by Synseal - one of the country's largest and most successful pvcU extruders. Since then the product has gone from strength to strength.
Legend is extruded from 100% virgin compound from a 50,000 tonne compound blending facility in Nottinghamshire. The profile will not discolour or warp over time.
The 70mm deep profile system has co-extruded gaskets, is available in white, light oak, mahogany and a combination of the above i.e. Mahogany outside, white inside.
A choice of glazing beads gives the option of a traditional straight lined window using the chamfered bead or a more modern sculptured look can be achieved by using the ogee bead.
Any product that we fabricate is reinforced with either aluminium or steel (also specific to the Legend 70 profile system). This gives you a quality window or door unlike certain 'budget' products, having little or no reinforcing.
KJ Bromell has a long standing working relationship with leading edge glass suppliers Pilkington. All our products are glazed with ground breaking Pilkington EnergiKare 28mm sealed unit giving amazing energy efficiency as standard. Should you require more advanced glass in your product we can offer Pilkington Activ self cleaning glass (the worlds first and best), and many other combinations of ground breaking glass technologies to help improve both the appearance and energy performance of your property.
KJ Bromell uses the highest quality products right down to fixing screws. Austenitic or stainless steel products are extensively used to combat the effects of sea air and corrosion. Similarly, coated products such as letter boxes and handles are carefully chosen to provide maximum longevity and have been tested to British standards.

KJ Bromell is proud to be the only supplier of a one piece fully welded conservatory roof in the area. With extreme weather conditions in the coastal areas of Cornwall and Devon this gives us a huge advantage over competitors using flimsy 'kit' roofs. The roof can easily support 1m of snow, or a small family car!
Our roof provides clients with extra strength and maximum flexibility, allowing five metre spans without the use of tie bars, four metres for glass. There are no manufacturing restrictions. The roof itself is self-supporting and, when constructed to our guidelines, no further support by use of portal work is generally necessary. They do not have to be at 90 or 135 degree angles.
On occasion, as the spread of mass weight is distributed throughout the perimeter of the ring beam, it may be necessary to erect portal type columns which must be secured from the ring beam of the roof to the supporting wall or concrete base of the conservatory to take the overall weight. This would depend on the size of the roof.
Our ring beam section is a three chambered PVCu profile with 3mm wall thickness. It is available in 60mm or 70mm front to back dimensions. The ring beam is reinforced with an aluminium box section of 2mm wall thickness which is placed in the centre chamber of the ring beam in the section directly above any doorway, French doors or patio doors. The total mass weight of the roof is distributed over the total length of the ring beam. A purpose designed spar anchor section is screwed to the surface of the ring beam. When required, a 285mm x 6mm wall thickness aluminium box gutter can be bolted or welded into position.
The strength of our one piece structural roof comes from being fully welded. The ridge is constructed with a specially designed aluminium boss and to this a 75mm x 25mm x 3.5mm wall thickness ridge is welded. From this assembly a 50mm x 25mm x 3.5mm wall thickness or a 75mm x 25mm x 3.5mm wall thickness aluminium spar section is welded to the ring beam spar anchor to form the required design.
Using this method of construction, structural engineers have produced structural formulae that can determine the load bearing strength of ANY size and design roof. They have issued guidelines stating that when a roof is constructed using a 50mm x 25mm x 3.5mm wall thickness aluminium box section the spar span should not be greater than 3350mm. When using our new 100mm x 25mm x 3.5mm wall thickness aluminium the spar span should not be more than 4420mm. On a number of designed roofs, this can be extended using tie bar sets, prop and purlins or noggins.
Our fully-welded roof is available as standard in white, mahogany, and light oak.
